Pet Health Requirements – Hueytown Pet Lodge

To protect the health of all pets staying with us, Hueytown Pet Lodge follows strict vaccination and parasite prevention guidelines. These policies help create a safe, disease-free environment for both boarding and daycare guests.

Required Vaccinations for Dogs

Dogs must be current on all of the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies
  • Distemper / Hepatitis / Parvovirus / Parainfluenza (DHPP)
  • Leptospirosis
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)

Required Vaccinations for Cats

Cats must be current on all of the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies
  • Feline Leukemia
  • Feline Rhinotracheitis / Calicivirus / Panleukopenia
  • Chlamydia

Parasite Prevention & Testing

For the health of every guest, we also require:

  • Approved heartworm prevention OR a negative heartworm test within the past 60 days
  • Negative fecal test within the last 6 months
  • Fecal Keyscreen every 12 months to check for intestinal parasites

If your pet is due for any required tests or preventatives, we can provide these services before or during their stay.

Timing of Vaccinations

For best protection, vaccinations should be given at least two weeks before boarding. If your pet is overdue, we’re happy to administer them during their stay, but immunity will not be immediate.

Holiday Boarding Deposit

A $94.08 deposit is required when booking holiday boarding dates. This deposit is applied to your final bill and is refundable if your reservation is canceled at least 3 days before check-in.

Confirmation of Boarding Dates

Your reservation is not finalized until you receive confirmation from our staff by phone or email. Please allow time for us to review your forms and vaccination records.

Booking & Cancellations

  • All charges for boarding and daycare are per day, per pet (not per night).
  • For cancellations, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid fees.
  • To reserve your pet’s stay, submit your Pet Lodge Boarding Request Form and health records.
